Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle
|
Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle meets the last Sunday of each month September to May from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm in the Church Parlour. Come and enjoy a time of fellowship and caring. In our first year alone, we have given over seventy-five Shawls as a comfort after a loss or in times of stress; during bereavement; birth of a child or grandchild; or wedding gift; during an illness and recovery; wedding anniversary. This is a spiritual practice, so before the knitting begins, a blessing, prayer, or wish is said, dedicating the work of your hands and the intentions of the receiver. Bring your completed shawls for blessings and on-going knitting to work on during the meeting. Instructions for knitting and crocheting the shawls are available -- we also gratefully accept donations of yarn.

The Seekers
|
The Seekers is a weekly study and discussion group, meeting Sunday mornings from 8.45 to 10.00 am. from September through June. It is open to persons of all age groups with an open mind, from youth to seniors. We utilize material from many publications, including magazine and newspaper articles, books, the Bible etc. The Seekers generally believe that it is important to ask questions, express doubts, share diverse ideas and work out new ones relating to our evolving Christian faith. We think that what we believe is important largely because it affects what we do, not because there are right and wrong answers to be found to our various questions. Today’s best answers are probably quite different to those of 10, 25 or 50 years ago, let alone those of Biblical times. They need to be. The world and our knowledge of it changes, and our viewpoints need to change with that. Come and join us as we each continue to work out in community, our personal Christian faith appropriate to the 21st century world we live in.

Youth Group |
We
invite all youth in Grades 7 - 12 to
join us at Cambridge Street
United Church
from 7pm -9pm for fun, friends and
fellowship.
Use the
Bond St
entrance. To help support this group we
are asking that each “family” provide
some type of refreshment/snack once
every other month.
We
are planning for at least 20 each time
we meet.
The snack needs to be
NUT FREE.
Snacks could be bags of chips
(we need 3 a night), or other items such
as veggies, etc.
We need to have at least 20
drinks per night (pop, juice boxes
etc.).
If there becomes a surplus we
will let the youth know not to bring
anything for the next meeting. Please
just send your items in with your youth.
Occasionally, we may need some parents
to assist in our events. If this is
something that you would be willing to
help with please let Rev. Paul, Joanne,
or Lisa know.
Thank you for sharing your young people
with us.
